Transportation Safety Manager
The Safety Manager will support the VP of Safety to monitor and maintain compliance with FMCSA, OSHA and other pertinent regulations related to motor carrier operations, as well as provide ongoing safety training and support for CDL drivers and driver trainers. Through organization, resourcefulness, and efficiency this position will help maintain continuity of department activities and accuracy of both reporting and documentation impacting the outcomes of transportation and general workplace safety.

*Primary duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages and maintains Driver Qualification process and files to audit-ready compliance
  • Manages company's DOT random drug and alcohol program, works with appropriate personnel to ensure file accuracy and proper file maintenance
  • Maintains metrics, status boards, and associated reports as required
  • Notifies stakeholders of injury incidents utilizing defined reporting tools and procedures and proactively manages workers compensation claims through return to work status
  • Collaborates cross functionally in the incident management process and monitors incident root cause and corrective action status
  • Suggests, leads, and supports continuous improvement initiatives
  • Accident management and investigation in coordination with maintenance and operations
  • Coordinates strategies to prevent workplace injuries, vehicle accidents and property damage
  • Instructs drivers regarding company and DOT regulations, penalties for infraction of rules, and safety policies and procedures--provides immediate coaching when required
  • Takes accident reports, conducts incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of each action item
  • Support of driver recruiting, retention, onboarding and ongoing training

*The successful candidate will possess the following attributes and experience:

  • *3 to 5 years verifiable experience in a safety role within a transportation or logistics company
  • Recent and thorough knowledge of all applicable FMCSA and OSHA safety rules and regulations
  • Expert computer and technical skills and the ability to learn internal software programs as required
  • Professional communication and the ability to build relationships with external and internal customers is required
  • Handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Current or prior Commercial Drivers License preferred but not required
  • Professional Certification preferred but not required

Operations Support and Dispatch

We are seeking a dependable , professional team player with great interpersonal skills for a unique opportunity in the city of Indianapolis. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

This is a Full Time , 1st shift Monday through Friday salary based position that starts @ 8am to approximately 5pm daily.

Our dispatchers assist with day to day operations, work with operations managers to complete reports, have direct customer service responsibilities, helping with EDI compliance, as well as managing a few city/local drivers to complete daily tasks.

Ideal candidates should have excellent organizational, planning and communications skills. Must possess experience and knowledge of DOT Rules and regulations pertaining to Class A Truck Driver hours of service, as well as experience using Microsoft office programs, especially Excel, and possess the ability to learn other programs such as:

  • TMW Suite
  • Peoplenet
  • Skybitz
  • Comdata
  • Any previous or equivalent experience is preferred.

The flexibility to cover different hours when needed possible Saturdays & to fill in for office personnel when on sick or vacation time and generally being an all around good team player who can add additional depth and expertise to an already fantastic team here in Indy.

  • Experience with TMW, EDI, PeopleNet, automated workflow is a strong plus
